The WiiKey Fusion is the successor to the very popular and successful Drive Key solderless modchip, it combines ALL the functions of the Drive Key with the new ability to load games from a stylish external SD card reader which is included with your WiiKey Fusion purchase.
With the introduction of the newest Wii consoles including the black Wii which have drives with the D3-2, D3 mini and D4 chipsets, Nintendo have disabled the playing of backups from disc/DVD. This rendered all previous modchips unusable, the WiiKey Fusion gets around this problem by allowing you to load backup games from standard SD/SDHC (Secure Digital) memory cards.
The WiiKey Fusion supports both standard SD cards as well as larger SDHC cards up to 32GB in size allowing you to fit a large number of games on one card alleviating the need to switch discs to change game.
The WiiKey Fusion is the next generation in solderless modchips providing a solderless plug and play modding solution for ALL Wii consoles. No soldering required, simply open the Wii, disconnect the DVD drive cable from the mainboard and connect to the WiiKey Fusion. Using the ribbon cable provided, connect the WiiKey Fusion to the mainboard, simple as that!
Ideal if you have a console with epoxy/'black glue' on the drive controller, D3/'D2nothing' console or a new D3-2 / D3 mini or D4 drive console, the WiiKey Fusion is compatible with ALL currently released Wii consoles, simply plug and play.

Today we have released Wiikey Fusion update v1.4 which partially fixes an issue that causes the Mii/Photo channel to crash on some Wiis when no SD card is present. With this update, all Wiis should now work as long as SD card or DVD is present. This will be completely resolved in the upcoming 1.5 firmware update. Various other minor bugfixes and improvements have been included in this release and we recommend that everyone upgrades.[2010.08.11]

Good news for those of you who have emailed us asking about GC support on SD card in Wiikey Fusion! The popular WBFS Manager application has now been updated to version 4.0 and includes full support for adding GC images to SD cards formatted with the WBFS filesystem. Because of the way it does this, a minor update to Wiikey Fusion has also been necessary.[2010.06.21]
To help users who have had a bad flash while upgrading their Wiikey Fusion (ie: if the power went out in the middle of updating) we have made a Recovery Image available.This update provides the same firmware update as the regular Wiikey Fusion Update v1.2 released on 8th June, but it runs in recovery mode. Use this only if you are unable to apply the regular v1.2 update. Be sure to read the readme.txt instructions carefully before installing, as it requires more steps than a regular Wiikey Fusion update.[2010.06.08]
Hot on the heels of the 1.1 update last week, we have just released v1.2 of the Wiikey Fusion code. This update fixes a few bugs that some users have been experiencing: namely a bug causing some DVDs not to eject when the eject button is pressed and another bug causing the flash update to fail/freeze is the SW3 dip switch is accidentally in the OFF position. This update also makes some improvements to the alignment of the selection menu cursor.
